For fishing rulers or to measure the length of your fish, I find that it is important to find a ruler or measuring tape that won’t rust. Being out on the water, especially when it’s raining or you have thick fog to contend with, you encounter all kinds of moisture that will rust some of the metal type measuring tape’s. The rust gets worse over time. You can also find rulers with a wide tape with a glare free background and large measurements so that you can take good pictures of your catch. For fishing scales, I prefer the digital type as they are easier to read, but they just look nicer. They are a little more expensive, but you really do get what you pay for. The components are nicer on the inside, and for me they tend to last longer and maintain their accuracy. There are all kinds of fish measuring tape’s or rulers, and scales on the market.
