Enjoy Fall with a Hike in the Outdoors Nothing beats a beautiful fall day along with the fresh cold air and beautiful color as the tree leaves begin to turn their oranges, reds, and yellow, to provide us with the beautiful sights and feel of Autumn. This is my favorite time to of year to get outdoors and enjoy the cooler weather as we shake off our summer, and take in all of the beautiful sights. It is cold on the outside, but warms my inside. And, what better way to do this than a good old fashioned hike to get to walk along the trails and experience this change in foilage first hand? Whether your hiking experience is that of a beginner or an expert, I hope you find the products below useful for your trip. You can also find a full line of hiking gear and accessories on the Hiking Collection page.

The single most important thing you will need for your trip is good quality hiking boots. A really great pair of men’s hiking boots, is the Men’s Newton Ridge Plus II Waterproof Hiking Boots made by Columbia. These boots are amazing as their reviews state, take a look for yourself. The boots are priced right, well under $100. For the best in women’s hiking boots, we also recommend the Women’s Columbia Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Hiking Boots. Both are waterproof, and made with full length Techlite™ midsoles that provide cushioning, support, and shock absorption, while the Omni-Grip® high traction, non-marking rubber compound outsoles provide the ultimate in stable footing to keep your feet steady on your hike.

Add some flexible high performance hiking pants like the Men’s Ascend Hiking Pants, or the Ascend Stretch Woven Trail Pants for the Ladies, and you’re all set. I like to wear the flexible pants when hiking to give me more freedom of movement and a more relaxed comfortable fit.

And protect yourself from getting lost on your hike with the Cammenga 3H Tritium Compass.
